Penthos is a fabulous new musical work created by two of our members: the poet Hannah Stone and composer Matthew Oglesby.
St Peter’s Singers gave the first performance in October 2018 as part of the commemoration of the Centenary of the 1918 Armistice, for which it was written. A second performance was planned for Good Friday 2020, but had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
A second opportunity to hear this remarkable work will take place at Leeds Minster on 7 April 2023 (Good Friday).
“A striking quality of the auspicious premiere … was the communicative power of the Penthos Requiem to connect with the listener”
Geoffrey Mogridge on Penthos in The Wharfedale Observer
