“A truly spellbinding & transformative performance from both the orchestra & chorus… It’s rare to be so spiritually uplifted by a single performance.”
From an audience member at our recent Mass in B Minor
“A broad spectrum of colours drawn by Alex Woodrow from the forty blended voices of St Peter’s Singers was, at times breathtaking.”

“The blending of voices was superb and the choral attack elicited by Alex Woodrow had astonishing power and precision. This was truly a tour de force…“

” Those dramatic qualities were abundant in the ringing clarity of the tenor Toby Ward’s narration as the Evangelist and the nobility of bass baritone Phil Wilcox as Jesus. A broad spectrum of colours drawn by Alex Woodrow from the forty blended voices of St Peter’s Singers was, at times breathtaking. The focused energy of these voices was at its most chilling as a fanatical mob demanding the crucifixion of Jesus.”
“As to be expected, Orchestra of Opera North and St Peter’s Singers deliver the goods with ease and are truly terrific in bringing the narrative into a new and perfect realm.”
Director

Alex Woodrow, Organist and Director of Music at Leeds Minster since 2020, was appointed Director of Music for St Peter’s Singers in March 2021.
Alex has a distinguished track record as organist and choral director, including a spell of almost five years as the youngest cathedral organist in the country when he held the position of the Organist and Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral.
