Music for Remembrance

Our next concert is a recital of poetry and music for remembrance of those who have died, be it in war or in peacetime. Come and let the emotional, other-worldly music of Elgar, Rutter and Vaughan Williams, and Duruflé’s ethereal Requiem, transport you in your reflections.

This recital of music and poetry provides an opportunity for quiet reflection and remembrance for those who have died, whether as heroes on the battlefield or more peacefully much nearer to home.

Opening with specially selected poetry, and music by Vaughan Williams, Ireland and Elgar, the concert concludes with Duruflé’s ethereal Requiem and the haunting plainchant on which it is founded, transporting us to another world.
